Leitourgia was an Ancient Greek custom. Translating to ‘deeds among the people’, it was the means by which the community channeled surplus resources held privately into socially productive works.

Leitourgia Films was started in 2018. The company’s first film, Friends and Strangers had its world premiere in the Tiger Competition at the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam 2021. It has since screened as part of the 50th New Directors/New Films, co-hosted by Film at Lincoln Centre and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the 22nd Jeonju International Film Festival, where it won the International Competition’s Special Jury Prize.

Leitourgia Films operates on the lands of the Eora Nation. Sovereignty was never ceded.
